Paul teaches nothing is inherently unclean but commands believers to sacrifice their personal liberty to protect weaker brothers. The kingdom of God centers on righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit rather than food and drink. Believers must pursue whatever builds others up rather than demanding their own freedom.
