Peter calls the church to be of one mind, compassionate, tenderhearted, and courteous, loving each other as brothers. Believers must not return evil for evil, but instead give a blessing. The Lord keeps His eyes on the righteous and opens His ears to their prayers.

God delivers us from the power of darkness and conveys us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. Believers receive redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins. We must walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him and bearing fruit.

Servants must submit to their masters, even harsh ones. Christ left an example for us when He suffered and bore our sins in His own body on the tree. We went astray like sheep but have now returned to the Shepherd.

Believers must abstain from fleshly lusts and submit to human authorities for the Lord’s sake. Doing good silences the ignorance of foolish men according to the will of God. We must honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, and honor the king.

Believers must do everything in word or deed in the name of the Lord Jesus. Wives submit to husbands, husbands love wives, children obey parents, and bondservants obey masters. Everyone must do everything as to the Lord.
