This message teaches that believers in the New Covenant have nothing to fear from the law or from sin. Through faith in Christ, we are freed from the law’s condemnation and the dominating power of indwelling sin. Our union with Christ’s death and resurrection provides the foundation for living a new and holy life.

This sermon draws a stark contrast between the fear and terror of the Old Covenant law given at Sinai, and the peace and grace of the New Covenant in Christ. The law’s purpose is to reveal sin and bring condemnation, proving that no one can be justified by works. In Christ, however, we approach God not with fear but with confidence, fully justified by faith in His finished sacrifice.
