Galatians 6:11-18 (view passage online)

Believers who walk in the Spirit do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. They produce the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Those who belong to Christ crucify the flesh with its passions and desires.

Galatians 4:21-31 (view passage online)
The Hagar and Sarah illustration contrasts the flesh with the spirit. Sarah doubted God and tried the flesh, resulting in the bondwoman persecuting the free woman. Believers must cast out the bondwoman and stand fast in liberty, just as Hebrews 12 contrasts Mount Sinai with Mount Zion.

The law demands perfection and curses all who fail, but Christ redeemed us from this curse. The inheritance comes by the promise God gave 430 years before the law. The obsolete old covenant gives way to the new covenant and its better promises.
