Andrew and John follow Jesus after John the Baptist points Him out. Andrew finds Peter to tell him they found the Messiah, and Philip brings Nathanael. Jesus calls His first disciples, and each person who encounters Him goes to tell someone else.

The Word becomes flesh and dwells among men. The only begotten Son declares God, bringing grace and truth to the world. John contrasts the law given through Moses with the grace and truth that comes through Jesus Christ.

John the Baptist sees Jesus and identifies Him as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. John testifies that he saw the Spirit descending on Jesus like a dove. He clearly names Jesus as the Son of God.

Jesus comes as the Word and God in the flesh, existing in the beginning with God. He makes all things and carries life and the light of men within Him. He gives the right to become children of God to all who receive Him.
