False teachers despise authority, speak evil of things they do not understand, and have eyes full of adultery. They forsake the right way, much like Balaam who loved the wages of unrighteousness. These teachers lure unstable souls away with empty promises.

Peter warns that false teachers will come among believers and secretly bring in destructive heresies. God judges sin, just as He did not spare the angels who sinned, the ancient world, or Sodom. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and reserve the unjust for judgment.
